Cargo Truck
Through the generous support of our donors, we were able to purchase a used pick-up truck and convert it into a cargo truck. This multipurpose vehicle is used for frequent trips to the market to pick-up our monthly food supply, to transport water from a canal for use in the garden, and to safely transport our youngest children to and from school – many would have to walk 30min or more to and from school.
Security Wall
For the protection and privacy of the children and staff, we were able to have a security wall constructed around 80% of the perimeter of the school. It is a very large campus covering approximately (4) acres which encompasses (3) school buildings and a home for Pastor Franz, our Director, and his family. Only a small portion of the property remains exposed, the cost to complete the security wall is $3800 – please consider donating to this very important project. Although we believe God will protect the children and staff, the gang violence is getting closer to the school and this wall is an important deterrent.
New Window Screens
The classroom windows all needed screens to keep out birds, bats and other disease carrying animals that created a mess and posed health risks for the children. Our supporters stepped up again – thank you!
New Paint For All Classrooms and Buildings
The Classrooms were also in dire need of a fresh coat of paint. This summer, with the help of our supporters, and special thanks to MURCO WALL PRODUCTS for donating ALL the paint, we were able to have all the classrooms AND all (3) buildings painted with a fresh coat of paint!!! Special thanks to the teachers who volunteered to help during their summer break!!!
New Blackboards
Through the support of our donors we have been able to replace all the blackboards this summer! Thank you!
New Playground Equipment
The few pieces of playground equipment the school had were in poor condition, missing parts, and are unsafe to use… but they still used it. Again, thanks to the support of our donors, we have been able to provide the children a safe, fun new playground to enjoy, before, during, and after school!
There are no lights, no outlets, and no power in any of the buildings or classrooms. The solar panels and batteries they had to power the computer lab are no longer functional, and computers are now outdated and unusable. The classrooms can be very dark at times which makes it difficult for the children to do their work. We would like to add some evening courses for adults as well as Bible studies for families in the village. Our goal is to have a Bible College & Pastor Training Program in the evenings and lights will necessary for us to begin this new vision the Lord has given us. Please consider supporting this very important program.
Bibles For All
Through the partnership and generosity of neighboring ministry Jesus in Haiti Ministries, we were able to distribute new Bibles for all the children and Staff! Each day at Gospel of Grace Academy begins with prayer and the study of God’s word. Now each child has their own bibles, written in their language – Haitian Creole, to study and learn of the promises and Love of their Heavenly Father, Amen!
Hope Seeds
Through our partnership and a generous donation from Hope Seeds International, each child and teacher in the school received several packets of Hope Seeds. Many families in the village also received Hope Seed packets. Hope Seeds International, is a non-profit organization with a mission of sharing the love of Christ and reducing hunger through worldwide partnerships, empowering people with sustainable food production skills, seeds, and resources. Each packet contains vegetables/herbs best suited for the climate, growing conditions, and culture of the people group to be served by the ministry. The packets also include a Gospel Message of Hope. Below are pictures of the children receiving the seed packets and also the first spring/summer crop – thank you Hope Seeds!
New Bible Class Curriculum
